Agency Statements Mission Statement To assist in the development of models of unity for diverse populations by creating a spiritual atmosphere in which issues of conflict are addressed through frank and honest dialogue, multi-media presentation and artistic expression. Vision Statement The OHF Workshops will be an inspirational model of the oneness of humanity in the forefront of evoking social change on a global scale. Inclusion & Diversity Statement The One Human Family Workshops, Inc. (OHF) does not discriminate as to race, sex, color, creed, religious affiliation, or national origin. In fact, OHF strives to be a true representation of diversity by actively seeking to include members of each of the beforementioned groups, policy makers, and educational institutions. Overview Statement One Human Family Workshops, Inc. (OHF), is a national nonprofit organization, headquartered in Durham, NC. It is dedicated to the eradication of racism through the creation of models of unity which help develop, strengthen, and support multi-faith, multi-cultural, and multi-generational communities. Since it’s formation, OHF has promoted the idea of unity in diversity through extensive use of the arts, and has encouraged and enhanced frank and honest dialogue through our various workshop formats. This unique combination of approaches fosters a new freedom of expression and greater understanding - far beyond current levels and aspects of communication. Each of OHF’s “workshop” experiences - designed with flexibility in mind. By fully integrating the arts, we create an atmosphere of cooperation rather than competitiveness which has been shown to reduce prejudices. In each workshop process individuals really get to know each other, exchange information, and thus develop a greater understanding of themselves and others who are “different” from them. We are able to explore, value, and pass on various dimensions of cultural perspectives and traditions which we believe will enhance the lives of future generations as we create new forms of “artistic expression” through the cooperative integration of the diverse heritage of our workshop participants. |
